BARBARY BORINTON
I have a plan for our set list – I know what songs we’re going to sing, in what order, and most musicians agree that it will be an effective set.  I’ve been doing this for many years, and I know what’s funny and what’s not.  We’ve been working hard to get the word out, and we’ve sent out many emails, some of which I’m happy to share with the public.
MIKIE BORANDERS

We need a revolution in SongLand, and I believe that we’re gonna get a really big turnout in the great town of Shrub Oak!  The concert is free, it’s free to borrow books, everything should be free!  We need to break up the big record companies, and everyone should have SongLand CDs, not just the 1% with big music collections!  I was right in 2002, and everyone else was wasn’t!
CARLY ULBRICHIO
As president of Romantic Devil Records, I doubled the number of songs released on my label.  True, that’s because I bought up a several smaller labels such as “A” Record Label, and now Romantic Devil is struggling, but that’s because Joe’s president now, and don’t believe what you hear about why I got kicked out.  Nowadays I make fun of other people’s songs – that’s how to make the big bucks.
DANOLD PELT
Everybody is saying that I’m the best performer in SongLand and, trust me, I am!  I sing louder than everybody else, and my songs have the most words in them.  The other guys are all losers, and they should go back to South Carolina or the Bronx or Long Island.  But seriously, I get along great with them and they all love me.  Vote for me and we’ll make everyone in SongLand sing only my songs.

#36 For the Year - 2013

Women of Substance internet radio has released its top 58 independent artist songs for 2013, and "I Was Born" made the list at #36.  That's pretty impressive, especially considering that the song was only on the air in 2013 for several weeks in December.

#6 With a Bullet!

Look, we made the Top 10!  Ok, there's really no bullet... but considering that our song was first aired on January 8th, and so only played on one show during this period, we are arbitrarily awarding ourselves some sort of projectile.

And the really cool thing is, you can go to the page below and listen to any of these songs (including ours!) at any time - no need to wait for the Wednesday Hot AC#2 show.

And if you go online and tell the DJ that you like us, who knows - Top 5 next month?

2013 UK Songwriting Contest - Finalist

logoflag ORIGINAL ARTWORK

We're proud to announce that "Television Sky" was named a Finalist in this year's contest.

Next year, maybe category winner?  Stay tuned.

Check out the way the results are listed... they are not in alphabetical order, and "Television Sky" is 2nd in the list of finalists.  Could it be? - I interpret this to mean that it was the 2nd runner up, really really close to being the AC category winner.  Either that, or finalists were keyed in random order by an unpaid intern.

P.S.  [1/2/2014]  For some reason we never got the prize info, and when I eventually sent a follow-up email, they responded, "Congratulations on your Finalist position.  We remember the song Television Sky well and it was a favourite with the judges."

(And you know this was a legitimate comment because they spelt "favourite" the British way.)
